Horses are beautiful creatures and wonderful companions. Taking care of them requires a massive amount of time and care. As such, below are some points on how to ensure your horse stays happy and healthy:

Horses are herbivores; therefore, they only eat plants. Like us, they require a lot of fibre in their diet, and this is through eating feed that takes a long time to collect and chew.
Horses don’t eat meals like we do—they graze. Horses, on average, graze and browse for at least 12 hours every day.
It’s important that horses eat lots of low-energy and low-calorie fibrous food.
Ensure the pasture that your horse(s) lives on is well managed, with a diversity of species (which is the best feed). If there isn’t enough pasture to accommodate your horses eating requirements, they will need lots of hay.
Ensure your horse is never fed lawn mower clippings or other garden waste
